UAE Passive Fire Protection Readiness Checklist

A preparation aid, not a certificate of compliance. Use it to make the first technical conversation more productive.

01

Scope and responsibility

  • Confirm the asset areas, risers, plant rooms, floors, and service routes included in the review.
  • Name the person responsible for building access, information, and follow-up decisions.
  • Identify upcoming inspection, renewal, handover, or occupation milestones.
02

Compartmentation

  • Review walls, floors, shafts, voids, and risers where a fire compartment boundary should remain continuous.
  • Note visible openings, damage, unsealed edges, or incomplete interfaces.
  • Check whether records make the intended construction and fire-resistance performance clear.
03

Service penetrations and fire-stopping

  • Identify penetrations for M&E, data, ventilation, and drainage services through compartment lines.
  • Look for signs that later works may have disturbed seals, sleeves, collars, wraps, or coatings.
  • Gather any installation records, product data, photographs, and location references available.
04

Doors, access panels, and interfaces

  • List doors, hatches, and access panels relied upon as part of the fire strategy.
  • Note damage, alterations, missing labels, gaps, or hardware that could need specialist review.
  • Record areas where finishing works or fit-out changes have affected the original interface.
05

Structural protection

  • Identify protected structural steel and any intumescent coating systems within the agreed review area.
  • Note impact damage, changes to surrounding construction, or missing protection.
  • Keep available project information, coating records, and test data ready for discussion.
06

Evidence and next actions

  • Prepare current plans, fire strategy documents, prior reports, and accessible photographic evidence.
  • Mark the issues that need a location-specific, independent technical view.
  • Agree what a useful outcome should look like: readiness, prioritisation, scope definition, or corrective action planning.
